I am a PhD researcher at the Institute for Systemic Inflammation Research (ISEF), University of Lübeck, with a background in molecular life science and immunology. In TRR 418 project A02, I study the interplay between lupus, UV exposure and circadian rhythms in mouse models, focusing on lupus-affected organs such as the skin and kidneys, as well as disease-relevant immune cells.

Circadian regulation of light-induced disease activity in human and murine lupus

Ultraviolet light triggers immune activation and disease flares in lupus, yet exposure occurs within a circadian context. The timing of UV exposure may determine the severity of local tissue injury and systemic immune responses.
